Wedding

This day was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Sure it was beautiful because of all of the decor and the incredible venue that their celebration took place at, but it was mostly beautiful because of David & Anna. It was beautiful because, above all else, their marriage was the most important part of the day. Anna honestly didn’t even seem phased (at least when I was there!) that it had been raining (and not just sprinkling) ALL morning up until that point. What mattered to them was that they were pledging their lives to each other that day, and that just made the whole day. After the ceremony, when they were finally together, watching them interact with each other was the most perfect thing. I’d be talking to the wedding party lining them up, my second shooter, or the videographer about the next setup and they were all doe eyed, nuzzling each other gently, and being sweet with each other, living perfectly in the moment.

One of the other things that made their day so special, was that they were so intentional about those that surrounded them. Anna chose to have a first look with her father and with her brothers, and it was evident that the relationship that she has with them was cherished so dearly and there *seemed* to be a photographer getting misty behind her camera.. who shall remain nameless. 😉 Her father said something that really resonated with me and as a Daddy’s girl myself, really pulled my heartstrings. He said, “My father-in-law gave me some advice when I married Anna’s mother, and that was to soak in how beautiful your Bride is on your wedding day, because she’s never going to be quite as beautiful as she will be when she’s walking toward you to marry you. Those of you who are fathers with daughters know that there’s something special about Daddy’s Little Girl. Today Anna decided to surprise me with a stunt called a “first look”, and what my father-in-law didn’t prepare me for was the fact that the same thing applies when you see your little girl in her wedding dress for the first time. She’s never looked quite as beautiful as she is today.”

I feel like their gallery is so wonderfully THEM and it makes my heart SO HAPPY. David and Anna are the sweetest, most fun couple and I love that they were bold enough to show their true selves in front of the camera. I’m not a photographer who likes to “just get a pretty picture”. I don’t simply photos, I capture relationships and fleeting moments and turn them into memories that you’ll be able to hold onto forever. Relationships are much more than just a pretty picture pinned on Pinterest, they’re real and raw and SO incredibly beautiful.  Thank you so much for having me along David  and Anna, and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you two!
